The beauty that comes with the passage of time.

As we get older, our skin becomes a reflection of a life rich with stories. However, many of these marks are often viewed as undesirable and are concealed rather than appreciated.

This project challenges the wearer to engage in an interaction between the object, a unique piece of jewelry, and their skin. Can the jewelry itself respond to the image of the “older woman” and encourage an appreciation for the beauty of wrinkles and creases?

Inspired by Shibari, the Japanese art of bondage known for its visual appeal, the design seeks to create a harmonious connection between the chains of the jewelry and the contours of the body. By drawing attention to these natural marks, a sense of aesthetic pleasure and acceptance can be evoked.

This project aims to initiate conversations.
By showcasing this unconventional perspective on aging, it challenges societal norms and encourages a shift in perception.
